  5. Three mornings this past week I woke up to texts from different people exclaiming that they were listening to NPR and they heard Fabian Akilles and “War”… on a syndicated public forum! I am so thankful to WHYY for asking me to perform at their Connections Fest this year (Saturday, 9/8) on the Waterfront at Penn’s Landing. It was an obvious honor. But what was unexpected has been the amount of press this show has gotten. I am still receiving messages from people I have not seen in years and New People are reaching out everyday to tell me they appreciate the music I make. Cheers WHYY, NPR, and XPN The Key.

  6. I appreciate Jump Philly Magazine for contacting me about a feature. I’m more eloquent then the article reads but you can’t account for what’s lost in translation. Anyway, the point is that Fabian AKilles is here to represent the ‘Have Nots’. Those who were never given anything and have worked to get everything.   7. Summer is usually ‘Show Time’ for Fabian Akilles and the Bold New Breed team. While there were amazing performances in Brooklyn, at the Philly Night Market, Ortliebs, and World Cafe Live, this summer had another, far more important, directive: Building the vehicle for our own success! We undertook the demolition and renovation of a 6,000 square foot warehouse to house The Philadelphia Record Company, Glass Canon Studios, and Bold New Breed Records under one roof. I’ve probably said too much already. There will be a very exciting announcement soon, for now, remember the word:  NOYO.
